In spite of early experiences, Karen wasn’t sure whether or not she believed in ghosts until she visited the site of the Wellington avalanche disaster for the first time on July 11, 2009. Now she’s a believer. She frequently speaks about her experiences at Wellington and the history of the town, both at conferences and in the media. She has appeared on multiple radio programs such as Darkness Radio with Dave Schrader, spoken at conferences, and appeared as an expert on Travel Channel's Mysteries at the Museum.
